Creating an account
Making your own Sparkia account, and the two very different things that can happen next depending on how you got here.
Before you start
Everyone gets their own account. You never share one with a colleague: your role, your runs and your notifications are all tied to you personally.
What matters is whether someone invited you. If a colleague sent you an invitation, use the email address they invited, and you will land in their workspace already set up. If nobody invited you, you will be asked whether you are starting a new organization or joining an existing one.

Signing up
- 1Enter your name and your work email. The name is what teammates see beside your runs.
- 2Choose a password, or use Generate a strong password and save what it gives you to your password manager.
- 3Confirm the password. A line under the field tells you whether the two match.
- 4Tick the agreement box. The terms and the privacy policy open in a new tab, so your half-filled form is not lost.
- 5Choose Create account. You are signed in straight away, with no email to confirm first.
Why a password gets refused
The meter under the field is not decoration. Sparkia refuses a password that would be easy to guess, and length alone is not enough.
| What the hint says | What to do |
|---|---|
| Too short | Between 8 and 128 characters. Aim well past the minimum: a few unrelated words beat a short password with symbols in it. |
| Appeared in a data breach | This exact password is on a public list of leaked passwords, so it is refused however complex it looks. Pick a different one. |
| Too easy to guess | It follows a predictable pattern, or it is built from your own name or email. Add unrelated words, or generate one. |
What happens next
This is where the two paths separate.
- You were invited. Your account joins that organization immediately and you land in the workspace. Nothing more to set up: your role is whatever the person who invited you chose.
- Nobody invited you. You are asked to choose between creating an organization and joining one with a code. Both are covered on the next page.
